I have been working with clay for 7 years and have found a love for handbuilding, primarily making jewellery and various home décor pieces. I create simple forms, following the edges of the clay and often leaving raw clay exposed; I glaze and decorate with vibrant colours and have an obsession with adding gold lustre to everything. I’ve recently moved to a home in the woods in Chelsea, QC and continue to find inspiration in my surroundings.
Nature, colour, chaos. Wildtree is inspired by the beauty and randomness of our colourful world, the big picture and the little details. I enjoy the slow process of making ceramics, the many steps to get to a quality finished product and the patience I have found on this journey. I love the variations that I can achieve on every piece and the unlimited techniques, ensuring I never get bored. Nature is my ultimate source of inspiration and getting my hands into clay connects me to the Earth from which it came.
